What To Expect In A BodyMyth Session

The format may vary from session to session but will usually be as follows:

First you will enter a beautifully prepared space in which you can explore, breath, stretch and move your body in your own way accompanied by quiet improvised music.

Next we will come together in a circle and follow certain movements and exercises, led by the facilitator, that are accessible and effective to prepare and attune the body for the improvisation, start to get to know each other and connect to the theme of the session.

This will be followed by simple toning exercises led by Carl to deepen our awareness and begin to sense the vibration of our inner world.

We will then start our Bodymyth journey through guided dance/movement improvisation, with live music that will initiate, respond to and support the dance as appropriate.

This will finish with a close down of movement and breath, led by the facilitator.

The session will end with time to assimilate and share the experience of the session.

The studio is set in such a way that there is space to dance and also space to rest.

No previous dance experience is necessary, just a body that can move, an open mind and enjoyment of dance and music.

Wear light, loose clothes that allow space for the body to move with a layer that can be added for warmth, bare feet or soft shoes or socks.

You can if you wish wear something or bring something that represents the colour theme of the session.
